One of the most frustrating web sites ever! This is not sour grapes. I have been there for a very short time and have won over 1000 awards including taking first place in numerous challenges with over 1200 and 1400 entrants. They totally goofed the first picture... See Moreorder made for one of my shots, not even processing it for over a week and then it took seemingly forever from there before my customer received the merchandise. People arbitrarily disqualify images for which you used points to enter challenges and do so incorrectly. For example, I entered a B&W image into a B&W contest and it was disqualified. I wrote the alleged customer assistance (difficult to nail down) indicating that not only was the entered shot a B&W photo, it was taken with Kodak Tri-ex and developed by me in my own darkroom. It was re-instated after the time wasting and aggravation on my part.

Someone made a negative comment about one of my shots and I responded in kind only to be reported and banned from making comments. At that point, I had been ripped off to the tune of almost $400 buying points to use for contest entries and photo posting rather than waste my valuable time garnering 1 point for every image I vote on.

They constantly pull you image from the voting requiring you to purchase or earn more points to put it back into the fight. BTW, although I was banned 5 minutes after the complaint without hearing my side. It has now been two days since they said they would un ban my comments while a bunch of great comments on my shots go unanswered.

I have written to them twice with questions/issues and received no response.

Bottom line: A bunch of money grubbing, inefficient, inattentive clowns. Use ViewBug where you can post shots, enter contests and have a lot of fun without making your credit card microscopically thin! Needless to say, I won't be renewing when my alleged membership expires. Pixoto sucks!

The issue I am now having with Pixoto after being a member for close to 2 years is having my account blocked for my voting choices. I have found that if I don't vote the way Pixoto thinks I should then my account is blocked and I am no longer... See Moreable to vote for X number of days. Once my membership is up at the end of this year I will no longer be a member and would let others know that if you don't vote the way Pixoto wants you to you run a very good chance of having your voting privileges blocked also.

Don't know who gives this rating that Pixoto is save! It is not! Photos are stolen from that page without watermarks ... they were warned, but didn't do nothing about it in 8 months ... anybody can download any image from the page without paying for it, and in high... See Moreres without watermark! The most ignorant page I ever been on! glad that I deleted my account there! They didn't even bother to answer what they are going to do about the stolen images ... at least one of my were stolen and I didn't put my photos on the market ... Be carefull!

Pixoto, I find as professional photographer of 40 yrs, is very good. Their rating system for image competition is fair. I've competed in many competitions in the US, Europe, and Canada, and their system of rating images for awards is good. It keeps the photographers and graphic artists "on their... See Moretoes" to do better and better. Anyone can always learn new technics through studying the thousands of images in competition. If you are looking for new ideas, the site abounds with new ones everyday! The costs are low for a year membership (around $70-80). I would highly recommend this site, whether you are a seasoned pro or a beginner, this site will make you better even if you only invest 5 hours a month into going to it. But, once you start and see the world of amateurs to masters of light, you will want to visit many hours a month. Just do it! Their website is easy to learn, and they always help you every time you need them. They actually received and answer your emails without all that dung of going through some system of "frequently asked questions" (which I can't stand). I email a question directly to a "human" and they answer within a day or so. They really are one of the top sites that I have found (and now greatly enjoy). Good luck with your search, but honesty, you can not go wrong with Pixoto, because they have set a site that does it right... Craig S. Luchin
